Boulder beach African Penguin Colony
This colony has grown from one breeding pair in 1983 to a present day population of nearly 3000
False Bay Whales
There are four species of whale that are often seen in False Bay. The most common is the Southern Right Whale but Bryde’s Whales, Humpback Whales and the Orcas more commonly known as Killer Whales are also regular visitors
Just Nuisance
Visit the grave of Able Seaman Just Nuisance, buried with full military honours on the hill behind Rob Roy
Simon’s Town Museums
There are three museums to visit in Simon’s Town. The South African Navy Museum, the Simon’s Town Museum and the Toy Museum
Simon’s Town historical mile has 21 buildings over 150 years old and the Waterfront centre with its seaside atmosphere and selection of speciality shops has a number of excellent restaurants and a small African market in Jubilee Square

Metro Rail
- Metro Rail runs regularly between Cape Town and Simon’s Town
- The service offers a hop on / hop off ticket that enables you to travel throughout the day. Simon’s Town is the most southerly station on the African continent
- From Muizenberg south to Simon's Town it runs right next to the sea. You can often see whales, and if it's windy you may have sea spray hitting the train windows. For the best views make sure you sit on the east side of the train (the left side as you face away from Cape Town and towards Simon's Town)
